The Song of the Bee

A touching novel about second chances and the courage to let go and start fresh

Marga is a woman in her early forties. She has been the “soul” of the household for hotel operator Paul Alprecht for ten years. When Paul’s fiancée meets a tragic death, Marga spontaneously writes him a comforting although anonymous e-mail. After all, years ago she also lost a loved one. The semi-anonymous e-mail exchange that ensues not only helps Paul overcome his grief; Marga, too, begins to rethink her life. For years, she’s been putting it on the back burner, but now Paul's e-mails inspire her to turn over a new leaf. And so she musters all her courage and sets out to engage with life and experience love… because in life only the person who leaves the bench can play in the game.
